Case Study: WhisperGuard™ Technology Displays
A quieter, more secure way to merchandise building-material samples
CHALLENGE
Traditional slot-based displays can make handling building-material samples unnecessarily difficult. Hard surfaces can scratch or damage samples, removing and replacing materials can create distracting noise, and fixed slots may struggle to accommodate products of different sizes and thicknesses.
Pak It and MJE set out to develop a more versatile display system that would protect samples, simplify handling, and create a better showroom experience.
PROJECT
Pak It and MJE developed WhisperGuard™ Technology (patent pending), an innovative soft-grip system that replaces conventional hard slots with flexible bristle brushes.
The brushes gently grip samples of varying thicknesses, holding them securely while allowing customers to remove and replace materials with less noise and friction. This approach helps minimize wear while keeping products accessible and neatly presented.

From thin ceramic tile to heavier brick and large-format countertop samples, the same core technology can adapt to materials with very different dimensions, weights, and handling requirements.
Designed for versatility, the technology accommodates a wide range of building materials, including ceramic tile, hardwood, luxury vinyl, stone, countertops, brick, and cabinet panels.

To support different showroom environments and merchandising needs, Pak It and MJE incorporated WhisperGuard into three distinct display formats.

DISPLAY STYLES
Large Format Slide-Out Display

Engineered for larger and heavier materials, this display accommodates samples up to 24″ Ă— 48″. Its slide-out design provides convenient access to tile, stone, and wood samples while maintaining an organized presentation.
Stair Step Display

Stair Step Display with optional header graphic support.
Designed to showcase multiple sample boards in a visible, accessible arrangement. Soft-grip brush slots allow for quieter handling, while a removable center divider accommodates larger samples. Multiple units can also be positioned together to expand product selections.
Culla Floor Display

A compact, portable solution that holds up to six sample boards. Customers can remove samples from the main fixture and compare colors, finishes, and material combinations side by side.
Optional features, including a sliding platform base and header graphic support, provide additional accessibility and branding opportunities.
Accessories

RESULT
WhisperGuard Technology gives manufacturers, retailers, and distributors a more adaptable approach to building-material merchandising, while addressing several limitations of traditional slot-based displays.
With multiple display formats built around the same core technology, the system can be adapted to different materials, product assortments, and showroom environments without losing the functionality that makes WhisperGuard distinctive.
By combining a secure soft-grip system with quieter handling, material protection, and support for samples of varying sizes and thicknesses, Pak-It created a display platform that improves both showroom presentation and the customer experience.
